Background
The Hertie School of Governance is an international teaching and research centre of excellence that prepares students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. The European Research Centre for Anti-Corruption and State-Building (ERCAS) is one of the school’s research centres with a focus on evaluating and analysing anti-corruption initiatives and policies. Through ERCAS, the Hertie School was a member of several EU funded research projects and works with clients such as the GIZ, the World Bank and Transparency International.
A key product of ERCAS is the Index of Public Integrity https://integrity-index.org/ , an innovative policy tool measuring and assessing public integrity frameworks in 109 countries. ERCAS is currently looking for a summer intern to work on the latest update to the index and support the ERCAS team with essential tasks:
Main Tasks
- Updating and finalizing the new Index of Public Integrity (IPI)
- Collecting and processing data from a variety of sources and manageing a small country database
- Editing of websites using CMS applications
- Managing contact databases for research communication
- Assisting with preparation of grant applications
Required qualifications
- Data savvy and independent candidate with top analysis skills and attention to detail
- Good knowledge of STATA and/or R
- A background in public policy, political science or related disciplines
- Self-motivated, organized, interested in learning new tools and methods
- An interest in anti-corruption policy and research
