Bahraini Woman Calls Upon Barack Obama to Pressure Gov’t for the Release of Relatives

Zainab al Khawaja, the dauther of a prominent Bahraini rights activist, Abdulhadi al Khawaja (pictured here), threatened to go on a hunger strike, starting yesterday, if her demands for the release of her father, husband, and brother-in-law, and uncle were met.

Ms. al Khawaja wrote an open-letter to US President Barack Obama demanding the release of her relatives on her blog, Angry Arabiya, stating that I chose to write to you and not to my own government because the Alkhalifa regime has already proven that they do not care about our rights or our lives.
