Malawi has experienced a slight backslide in the past decade, losing its original shine against its neighbors and income group, especially on judicial independence. While reducing resources for corruption by administrative simplification, e-government and transparency is the obvious way ahead, the lack of evolution of a critical mass of e-citizens in the last decade does not forecast much development in the future. According to the Global Corruption Barometer public opinion is critical of government performance on anticorruption, however.
