Public Integrity Index: 4.13

While it is still lagging behind the rest of the region and its respective income group, Myanmar has made progress on several counts as it started off ranked at the very bottom of all indicators. Given the limited autonomy of the judiciary and the media, radical progress cannot be achieved. However, there is still room to advance financial transparency, administrative burden and regulatory quality.
